The key to cleaning up our city is to get enough people to vote in the upcoming primary and general elections for the right candidates.

The Municipal Primary Election will be held on August 13, 2013.
The Municipal General Election will be held on November 5, 2013.

If you are not currently registered to vote, or would like to check on the status of your registration, please visit the Utah County Elections Office online. You can also visit the Utah State Elections Office and the voter.utah.gov site. Remember, the online and walk-in voter registration deadline for the Primary Election is July 29, 2013.

If you are like many Utahns and generally don’t vote in off-year elections (when there are no presidential and congressional elections), please consider requesting an absentee ballot. Since the ballot will be mailed to you, it will be much easier for you to remember to vote. Note that you cannot request an absentee ballot unless you are already registered, so be sure to register first. The state also has a text alert system which you can use to get reminders of the upcoming elections.

Although voting is important, it’s even more important to vote for the right candidates. After the filing period for candidates ends on June 7th, your neighbors at eagleshare.org will vet the candidates. After we have completed our analysis and background checks, we will post our findings on this site.

It’s really important this year for everybody who wants real reform to get behind the same candidates so our reform vote isn’t split among multiple candidates. If we can do this, we should be able to quickly get our city’s spending under control, and hopefully, lower the cost of living for all residents in Eagle Mountain.
